How To Easily Hide A Pinterest Image In Your Blog Post
Are you new to the blogging world?
Or have you been around for some time but are just getting into Pinterest and realizing all the amazing traffic it brings to your site?
Then you know that you can make not one, but two, maybe even three or four if you need, Pinterest images for one blog post! And you can even hide a Pinterest image in your blog post!!
Awesome, right??
Why more than one pin image?
I also didn’t realize this in the beginning until I was on Pinterest one day and clicked on a pin and it brought me to an article I already read. I discovered the author made a couple different images to bring in readers to her website.
Brilliant, I thought!
Making more than one image (or pin) is not only a great way to test your pins and see which design brings in more traffic but it also helps you get your pins out there. Maybe one pin didn’t reach enough people, so try another one and see if that one does. Or switch your design or size up a bit and see if something new works better!
If you know your post you wrote is really good but not sure why it isn’t attracting the traffic it should on Pinterest, then that’s when you need to take a look at your pins and update them! Not to mention, Pinterest loves new content and fresh pins!
How many pins should I make?
That’s up to you. I normally do 2 pins per post. If I feel I need to update a post, then I’ll update the pin as well. If I notice I have a great post but the pins I made aren’t doing well, then I’ll make a 3rd image.
Some bloggers make at least 3-4 per post, it all depends on how much time you have.
How do you hide a Pinterest image in your blog post?
It might look scary at first, but trust me……it’s not at all!
Once you get the hang of it, you’ll be able to hide a Pinterest image in your blog post so fast, you won’t even think twice about it!
Below is a step-by-step process to hide your pin images in your blog posts!
How to add the code to your blog to hide the extra Pinterest images:
On your post in WordPress, click on the “text” version at the top right hand corner. You are normally in the “visual” version.
Find your image that you want to hide and place this code below before and after it:π
<div style="display:none;">THEN THE IMAGE GOES HERE</div>
The <div style=”display:none;”> part goes before the image.
The </div> part goes right after the image like I have above.
Copy and paste the code above so you know it’s exact! π
Some people have trouble so be sure to double check it and make sure there is a space between the word div and style.
Then hit update and go back to your visual version to check!
Here is an example below:
And that’s it!
Once you add this code and hit save, you won’t see your image there anymore but it will still be in your post. This allows you to have as many Pinterest pins you need for a blog post without filling up your post with images!

Hi Meg! Did you make sure there was a space between the word “div” and “style”? Sometimes I forget that and have to go back and check to make sure it’s in there otherwise it won’t work. Hope that helps! You can email me directly if you need some more help! ssn@italianpolishmomma.com
Hi, I’ve done this and the post is hidden in my post, but when I check to see if you can still pin it, it isn’t there? Any ideas why this may be? I’ve triple checked the coding!
Hi Sophie! Did you actually pin the image on Pinterest before you added the code? You need to upload the pin image to Pinterest first and save it to a board. Then go back into your post and add your code. Once you do that, check it and you should have the option to pin it! Hope this helps! You can email me if you have anymore questions!
This is new to me. This went into my blogging journal. Thanks a lot. I will try and come back to you.
So happy to help! Email me if you have any issues with it!
Okay, I am a super newbie on Pinterest. I understand how to add this invisible pin but I’m not really sure why? I make my posts, then create a graphic and pin it, linking back to my site. Why do I need to put the pin into the post if I’m already linking to it? This is where I am super confused.
Hi Megan! I hope I’m answering your question correctly, you only need to hide pins that you don’t want seen on your post. So let’s say you make a post and have 3-4 pin images in it but only want one of them shown, that’s when you would use the code to hide a few of them. It’s also good to have the pin in the post in case someone tries to steal your image on Pinterest. I have always uploaded all my pins to my post first and then to Pinterest, that way I can decide which ones to hide or not and it’s an easier process with adding descriptions as well. Also, by uploading it to the post first, when someone goes to pin from your post, all of those pin images will be available for them to pin if you have the Pin It button or social share buttons on your blog.
Hope this helps! Email me if you get stuck! π
Itβs like magic! Thank you! Love learning new blog tools!
