Chicken Alfredo Ingredients

To create a mouthwatering Chicken Alfredo, you will need a few key ingredients. Start with boneless, skinless chicken breasts, which provide the perfect protein base.

Fettuccine pasta is reccommended for most chicken alfredo recipes, however- our family loves to switch it up and use penne or rotini every so often.

It is honestly your preference. Fettuccine’s wide shape does hold onto the creamy sauce beautifully.

The alfredo sauce is made from heavy cream, butter, and freshly grated Parmesan cheese, which together create that signature richness.

Don’t forget the garlic for added flavor and a sprinkle of fresh parsley to garnish your dish.

This combination of ingredients ensures a delicious meal that captures the essence of Italian cuisine!

Ingredients

Instructions

  1. Cook the Pasta: In a large pot of salted boiling water, cook the fettuccine/penne according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
  2. Set oven for 400 degrees before preparing the Chicken.
  3. Prepare the Chicken: In a small bowl, combine the onion powder, gralic powder, salt and pepper together. Cut up the raw chicken into slices. Season the chicken breasts with the salt/pepper/garlic/onion powder mixture. In a large skillet over medium heat, melt 1-2 tablespoon of butter. Add the chicken and cook for about 6-7 minutes until browned.
  4. Make the Alfredo Sauce: In the same skillet, melt the remaining tablespoon of butter. Add minced garlic and sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant. Pour in the heavy cream and bring to a simmer. Add the chicken boullion and stir in the Parmesan cheese and chicken broth and cook until the sauce thickens slightly, about 1-2 minutes.
  5. Put the chicken alfredo sauce in the oven for 20 min until chicken is cooked through and flavors all combine. (Make sure you are using an oven safe pan- if not, transfer your alfredo sauce into an oven safe dish)
  6. Combine: Once you take the chicken and sauce out of the oven, then add the cooked fettuccine or penne to the skillet and toss to coat in the alfredo sauce. Stir together and add more parmesean cheese if necessary.
  7. Serve: Garnish with chopped parsley and enjoy!

Great Side Dishes for Chicken Alfredo

We usually serve our homemade chicken alfredo recipe with peas.

Some of my children like the peas on the side of the dish and some of my kids like to mix the peas in with the pasta and chicken altogether!

Another option is to serve with broccoli if your family loves broccoli! We have a great broccoli recipe I’ll add here to help you get your kids to eat it!
